STABILITY EVALUATION OF β-CAROTENE NANOEMULSIONS PREPARED BY HOMOGENIZATION-EMULSIFICATION PROCESS USING STEARIC ACID AS OIL PHASE

  • The nanoencapsulation in o/w nanoemulsions-based delivery systems represents an effective approach for incorporating bioactive compounds, such as β-carotene.

  • Stearic acid used as oil phase was capable to incorporate a lipophilic compound such as β-carotene.

  • The processing parameters assessed directly affecting the particle size of nanoemulsions.

  • Nanoemulsions were obtained with particle size in a nanometric scale using an easy and economical method of homogenization-emulsification.

  • Nanoencapsulation of bioactive compounds in nanoemulsions using lipid matrix efficiently could be contribute to generated structures highly stables such as solid lipid nanoparticles.
